Cardinal Reproduction

Cardinals are monogamous. Sexual maturity is reached after 1 year. These birds mate twice per year. They build their nests from twigs, weeds, grass, bark strips and leaves. Incubation period is 12-13 days. 3-4 eggs are laid. Eggs take about 12 days to hatch.
